The JCAH outlines four medical care review functions:
l. tissue review
2. pharmacy and therapeutics review
3. blood utilization review
4. antibiotic usage review
In smaller hospitals or group practices, these could be combined under two committees: the tissue review committee and the therapeutics review committee.
