TITLE:  DoD Instruction 5240.10, "DoD Counterintelligence Support to Unified and Specified Commands", 05/18/1990

SUMMARY: This Instruction:

1. Under the authority of Executive Order 12333, December 4, 1981 and DoD Directive 5240.2, June 6, 1983 establishes policies, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures to ensure that the counterintelligence requirements of the Commanders in Chief of the unified and Specified Commands are met under the parameters established by law, Executive order, and DoD Directives. 

2. Provides general principles for the command relationships and support requirements between the counterintelligence organizations of the Military Departments and the Unified and Specified Commands during peacetime, exercises, contingencies, and through the spectrum of armed conflict.
