TITLE:  DoD Directive 5106.1, "Inspector General of the Department of Defense", 01/04/2001

SUMMARY: This Directive: (1) Implements the provisions of Public Law 95-452, Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended, which establishes the position of Inspector General (IG) and the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) in the Department of Defense, and sets forth responsibilities, functions, authorities, and relationships as outlined below. (2) Cancels DoD Directive 5105.48, July 26, 1982; DoD Directive 5105.50, April 28, 1982; DoD Directive 5148.10, April 20, 1981.
