TITLE:  DoD Directive 4165.66, "Revitalizing Base Closure Communities and Community Assistance", 02/12/1996

SUMMARY: This Directive establishes policy and responsibilities under reference The President's Five-Part Plan, "A Program Revitalize Base Closure Communities, " July 2, 1993 to speed the economic recovery of communities where military bases are slated to close. Implements references Title XXIX of Public Law 103-160, "National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1994," November 30, 1993 and Public Law 103-421, "The Base Closure Community Redevelopment and Homeless assistance Act of 1994, " October 25, 1994. Supersedes reference Assistant Secretary of Defense for Economic Security Memorandum, "Revitalizing Base Closure Communities, " June 15, 1995. Continues to authorize the publication of DoD 4165.66-M, "Base Reuse Implementation Manual.
