TITLE:  DoD Instruction 1030.2, "Victim and Witness Assistance Procedures," 06/04/2004

SUMMARY:  This Instruction:  1.  Reissues DoD Instruction 1030.2, dated December 23, 1994, to implement policy, assign responsibilities, and prescribe procedures under DoD Directive 1030.1 to assist victims and witnesses of crimes committed in violation of Chapter 47 of title 10, United States Code.  2.  Implements Sections 10601-10607 of title 42, United States Code, Sections 1512-1514 of title 18, United States Code, DoD 5400.7-R, and Sections 113 (note), 1058, 1059 and 1408 of title 10, United States Code by providing guidance on assisting victims and witnesses of crime from initial contact through investigation, prosecution, and confinement.  3.  Establishes annual reporting requirements on assistance provided to victims and witnesses of crime.
