SUMMARY: This Instruction reissues DoD Instruction 1340.10, May 7, 1982 (hereby canceled), to update policy guidelines for designating arduous locations outside the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia that qualify enlisted members assigned thereto for special pay.
