SUMMARY: This Instruction implements policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures under DoD Directive 1332.18, November 4, 1996, and Title 10, United States Code for: retiring or separating Service members because of physical disability; making administrative determinations under Sections 3502, 5532, 6306, 18332 of title 5, United States Code and Sections 206 and 502 of title 37, United States Code for Service members with Service-incurred or Service aggravated conditions; and authorizing a fitness determination for members of the Ready Reserve who are ineligible for benefits under Title 10, United States Code because the condition is unrelated to military status and duty.
