SUMMARY:  This Directive reissues DoD Directive 1225.6, April 18, 1970, renames it, updates policy, responsibilities, and procedures for procuring and distributing items of new and combat-serviceable equipment to the Reserve Components of the U.S. Armed Forces in accordance with Sections 163, 264(b), 672(a), 673(a), and 673(b) of title 10, United States Code, DoD Directive 5000.1, February 23, 1991, DoD Instruction 5000.2, February 23,1991, and DoD 5000.2-M, February 23, 1991.
