Special Command Positions", 09/03/1991 SUMMARY: This Directive updates and reissues DoD Directive 1100.12,
"Authority for Establishing Special Command Positions," April 26, 1971;
establishes DoD policy and assigns responsibilities for the designation of "Special
Command Position," which may be authorized special amenities; and under Section 2387
of Title 10, United States Code, prescribes procedures for regulations and uniform
practices for the supply and replacement of special furnishings, as described in DoD
4165.63-M, "DoD Housing Management," June 1988, authorized by DoD Instruction
4165.63, July 20, 1989, for use in special command quarters of officers of the Armed
